Liz Dawson
Liz Dawson's paintings are composite landscapes, virtual spaces made up of elements lifted from different sources, which verge on the fantastical. They play on the miniature's qualities of lightness and of fascination. The paintings work in the strange space between recall and recognition, carrying with them the uncanny of a place where time passes differently. The interest lies in how we might locate these places, in what proximity we place ourselves to them, and how we might attempt to inhabit them. She will be creating a new series of paintings for the show.
